![]() ![]() I hadn't had this much fun since Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 and it's a tall order to beat. ![]() ![]() Much more compelling as a racing game than any other kart racer, and a lot of the sim games as well. The game is so good that if you were to just turn items off it would be fun. It's not without it's flaws of there needing to be something to slow #1 down somewhat, but I feel like there's so much less RNG BS going on with items that the trade-off is worth it in the end. I feel like this game rewards good players more, and that's a very good thing in a racing game. Items in Mario Kart are fun to use, but it feels like never getting anything fun to blast people with in first is punishing you for being ahead. I know that some leads can seem insurmountable, but it's better than Mario Kart's rubber banding of the NPCs or all of the stupid items blasting you in first while all you get are coins and the occasional banana. It kinda blows mario kart out of the water, IMO. One of the few that I'd consider on par with the Mario Kart series.
